What this site collects, why, where it is stored, and how to have it removed. Plain language, only what is true.

If you ask for the first chapter, I collect your email address. It goes to Kit (kit.com), the service that sends you the chapter and the notes that follow. The signup is also saved in Netlify Forms, the form service this site runs on, as a backup.
If you use the Come Forward form, I collect what you type into it: your message, and your name and contact details only if you give them. It is saved in Netlify Forms. I read it myself. I do not publish it and I do not name you without your permission. You can write to me without giving a name.
When you visit, the site counts page views with Google Analytics 4, set up without cookies. There is no advertising, no tracking pixels and no profile of you.
I use your email to send the chapter and to write to you when a document turns up or an archive opens. I do not sell your email, rent it or pass it to anyone.
Until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and it works without a login. Write to me and I remove you from Kit and delete the saved form entry.
You can ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. This applies wherever you live. If you live in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Kit, Netlify and Google are companies based in the United States. Your information is processed on their servers under their own privacy terms.
If this changes, the date at the top changes.
